Very High Arch

Hello.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to view and answer our questions and concerns~

I have a very high arch and was told I need support at all times (and even shouldn’t be going barefoot but wearing a supportive sandal or slipper at all times for the support).

I have quite a few existing shoes without a removable insole that I would like to continue wearing, but don’t have the proper support.

— Is there anything that can be done or added to support a high-arched foot for your regular shoes?

I also have the Aetrex Lynco L400 series (orthotic) for my sneakers, but I could still even use more support. — Would you recommend something with a higher arch support for my feet?

Thanks so much~

Just a note too: Arch is high where when I step on the I-Step foot scanner, you only see the outline of the front of my feet and toes and heel. There is “nothing” in the middle on the scanner since the arch is up high. 🙂 Thanks

Your welcome, it’s my pleasure to answer your questions. As far as increasing comfort for a high arched foot type, the focus should actually be more of shock absorption and cushion versus support. There are some great over-the-counter materials you can purchase or have professionally added to your shoe. Try to get those made of either silicone gel or plastazote as these offer the best cushion. I would not recommend adding too much medial arch support as a high arched foot type surprisingly does not respond well to an orthotic or insert built up too high. Good luck!
