Upper foot pain and lower shin pain

I have constant dull to medium upper foot pain, mainly seem to be in the muscles on top of the foot. Shin pain is lower front. Symptoms get worse when standing or walking for long periods. Sometimes pain is so intense after a mile or two walk that it is difficult to walk for a few days…

I am borderline diabetic, blood sugar is usually around 116 to 126. I am over weight at 337 lbs. I used to be 367 lbs.
I wear compression stockings.

Please advise possible causes and type of doctor to seek help.

    Thank you for the question.

Without examining you it is hard for me to accurately diagnose you – however, based off of how you describe your pain it sounds like it may be the muscles and tendons. When we walk we use the muscles on the front of our leg to pick up the foot. Most muscle and tendon pain will subside with minimizing activity and controlling inflammation. You can ice the area for 15 minutes or take oral anti-inflammatories if you have no stomach issues.

If your pain persists with minimizing activity and rest I would recommend seeing a Podiatrist who can better evaluate you.
