Uncomfortable Pain

I’ve been getting a pain in my right foot for a month or so now and its gradually getting worse. Its a pain that goes across both the top and bottom of my foot just infront of the arch. I first noticed the pain when I got out of bed and tried to walk. Since then its gotten worse and now everytime I sit or lay down, be it for 5 minutes when I stand up I get the extremely painful feeling when I try to walk. I haven’t damaged or injured it in anyway this pain just randomly came on. I hope you can help.

    Thank you for your question.

Without examining you it is difficult to determine the cause of your pain, however I can give general guidelines. Any pain in the front of the foot we begin to think about stress fractures, neuromas, joint inflammation.

If you have had a change in activity or footwear this can cause a flare up of any of the above mentioned conditions. You can start by icing, stretching and taking anti-inflammatories. If they do not alleviate the pain then I would see a Podiatrist to get an in depth foot exam.

    Good luck!
