Twist the bone in the middle of my foot

Hi Doctor, I fell and twist the bone in the middle of my foot on the outside. It’s been almost 3 weeks and the swelling goes up and down and it’s discolored from my other foot. I can walk on it but I can’t apply much pressure. I try to walk mainly on my heel as not to put much pressure on it. I’ve cold compress followed by hot water and back to cold and the swelling remains. Sometimes I feel pins in that area. I can move my toes. What do you suggest ?

Hello and thank you for your question. I would definately suggest seeing a Podiatrist or going to an Urgent Care Center to get an Xray of your foot. It is quite possible that you have a fractured bone as this is common with a twist of the foot. The area you are describing is the 5th metatarsal base and is commonly fractured during ankle sprains. If you do have a fracture you want to be immobilized right away to ensure proper healing. Good luck!
