Sudden pain in tips of toes

The last few days and especially nights I’ve experienced sudden, severe pain in the last digit of all my but my big toes. It’s more of a burning sensation. Spray magnesium helps sometimes. What could this be so sudden…..I’ve never had fool pain, I’m not overweight and do not have diabetes. I have been ill w/ gastro issues and have spent a lot of time in bed. At first I thought it was irritation from the sheets, socks didn’t help. Tonight it’s hurting for a much longer time and getting more severe.

Thank you for your question. Without examining you it is difficult for me to accurately diagnosis what may be causing your foot pain. I recommend seeing a Podiatrist who can more accurately assess and evaluate your foot. In the mean time I would try to track when you feel the pain. Is it only when in bed at nighttime? Do you feel pain when you stand or walk? Does anything alleviate the pain? The answers to these questions will better assist your Podiatrist when evaluating your foot. Good luck!
