Stress fracture

At first I thought I was dealing with a stress fracture in my left foot. I hurt my foot back in January. The last couple weeks it seems to have gotten worse. My foot at the heel seems to hurt most when I step. And wherever the top of my sock stops you can see the line and the rest of my leg appears swollen.

Hello and thank you for your question.

If you are considered of a stress fracture or fracture in general then I would see a Podiatrist who can take an x-ray of your foot. Typically stress fractures do not present in the heel bone as it is a very difficult bone to fracture.

Having said that, you may have a soft tissue inflammation such as plantar fasciitis or a similar tendonitis. If you have not tried icing, stretching and anti-inflammatories then I would see a Podiatrist to better evaluate you.

    I hope this helps!
