Strained Muscle/Vessel/Tendon on foot?

I’ve been exercising and jogging regularly for about 3 weeks now. About a week ago a reddish spot appeared on the bottom of my foot that started to hurt. I thought it was just a blister that was forming, so I put a bandaid over it so it wouldn’t rub on my shoe for a few days. After that, I had a stinging, kind of piercing pain on the same place that got worse after I did a pretty strenuous hike. Later it kept stinging every time I put pressure down on that foot (as if something is torn or pulled) and 2 days ago I looked at it and there’s a light reddish/purple super-fine line about 1 inch long in that spot – on the inside arch of my foot more toward the top (no bruise, just a line).

I’ve been wrapping it so I can still walk on it, but it stings & feels like a piercing pain every time I step on it.

I don’t have any insurance at the moment, so I wanted to see what you think it might be or what I should do to help it?

    Any time you begin a new exercise or running program and begin to feel pain in your feet it could be indicative of overuse. Often times the overuse can be a strain of the tendons or a stress fracture in the long bones of the foot.

    If your pain in increasing and you feel a sharp pain every time you step down, I would recommend seeing a Doctor. Most cities have clinics within the hospitals that offer an affordable option to get an xray and evaluation with a Doctor. I would rest and ice the area until you can get to the Doctor, but would not continue to run on it just in case it is a stress fracture.
