Spot on Foot

I have a spot on my foot, just under an inch and round. It is flat on top and reddish in color, thought it is white looking sometimes. It is just at the base of the 2nd and 3rd toes on the top of my left foot. It isn’t usually painful although once in a while (with no regularity) a cramp like pain will shoot in the toes. Though it is probably not related, I do get bruising on the ankles of both feet which I have assumed is similar to the bruising I have in my knees, which I was told was caused by osteoarthritis. My shoes are not too tight, at least I don’t thinks so, and seem to fit fine enough. Thanks.

Hello and thank you for the question. Without seeing your foot it is difficult for me to say exactly what this may be as dermatolgoical conditions do require an in person examination. Often in the foot when we see skin conditions we want to rule out fungal infections, eczema or dermatitis.

Does it itch? Are there any other lesions around it? I recommend seeing a Podiatrist or Dermatologist who can better examine you and recommend treatment options.

    Good luck!
