Shoes following surgery

I had foot surgery 8 weeks ago to remove 2 chipped bones in my ankle area. The actual diagnosis was “non-displaced fracture of the anterior process of the calcaneous.” So far I am only wearing running shoes. I would LOVE to be able to wear something a little more fashionable/dressy. I was looking on the Aetrex website and found their ballet flats. Would this be OK at this point or is it too early?

Hello and thank you for your question. At 8 weeks out from the surgery you describe above it is okay to begin transitioning to other footwear. The Aetrex ballet flats are a great option as they provide support – but also have an open top as to avoid pressure to where your incision was.

Full return to regular footwear should be between 8 – 12 weeks.

    I hope this helps!
