Sharp pain in toes and feet

I’ve been having sharp pain on the bottom of my toes and feet. It occurs every couple minutes. There’s no bruising or skin discolorization. It doesn’t hurt when I walk or put pressure on them. It just occurs out of nowhere. I am healthy 38 yr. old white male in good shape 5-09 180 lbs. I do not have diabetes. I haven’t changed my diet or ate anything out of the ordinary. I sometimes have the felling in my fingers but alot less severe. What could this be?

    Thank you for your question.

Pain that occurs when you are non-weight bearing and is transient in nature makes me think of some type of nerve impingement or tension. Depending on which digits and which side of the foot is painful, would determine which nerves may be affected. I would definately see a Podiatrist who can better evaluate you, order specific tests if necessary and make the appropriate referrals.

In the mean time, I would try and track specifically when you feel the pain, if certain activities aggravate the pain and what/if anything improves the pain. Best of luck!
