Sharp pain in sole of foot

Can you diagnose this? I have been experiencing a recurring injury to my foot for years now. Pain type: sharp, acute. Location: Inside bottom of the foot, 60% of the way from the back of the heel to the tip of the big toe. Occurrence: The pain only occurs randomly when running and occasionally when walking. The pain only occurs mid-stride and can’t be reproduced by pressing on the location.

Hello and thank you for your question. Have you ever been evaulated by a Podiatrist. Without evaluating your foot or seeing a picture of exactly where you are describing. It may be a deep structure in the foot which includes the posterior tibialis tendon and peroneus longus tendon. Have you been doing any rolling of the foot on a golf ball or RAD Roller (www.radroller.com). Have you ensured your foot type matches your shoes? Have you had any steroid injections or other treatment. If you have not seen a Podiatrist yet they may recommend imaging such as an ultrasound or MRI to evaluate the foot in more detail. I hope this helps.
