I have severe pain in my right foot, on the side between the pinky toe and heel. Also on the bottom near my heel. The pain is worse when I walk and when I’m laying or sitting down its throbbing.

Hello and thank you for your question. Where did the pain start? In your heel or on the side of the foot? I often see patients with plantar fasciitis / heel pain that compensate by walking on the outside of their foot creating a peroneal tendonitis. As far as the pain on the outside of the foot, does it feel like it is on the bone that slightly protrudes from the side of the foot? This would be your styloid process of the 5th metatarsal. It is here that your peroneal brevis tendon inserts.
If you have not done any stretching, icing or anti-inflammatories I would recommend starting these treatments. If your pain persists after I week, I recommend seeing a Podiatrist who can better evaluate you and give you additional treatment options if necessary.
