severe pain under left ankle bone

when I apply pressure to the soft area just under my left ankle bone the pain is severe and unbearable. I did not suffer any injuries nor is this caused by shoes. I push in on what feels like veins and a very sharp burning shooting bee stings type of pain occurs. also I don’t know if this is related at all but my right big toe is totally numb all the time.

Hello thank you for your question.

Without seeing a picture or examining you I am not certain what area you are describing. If you can provide a picture that would be great. We have various soft tissue, vascular and nerve structures on the top of foot/ankle which you could be putting pressure on and feeling pain.

As far as your right great toe, chances are they are not related, however again without seeing your foot it is difficult to determine. We can get numbness in the foot for different reasons. If you have not see a Podiatrist in person I recommend this especially if you’ve been dealing with numbness in the great toe for quite some time.

    Thank you!
