Severe Pain in my inside arch

I have been experiencing severe pain in my foot and arch for about 3 months. The pain is unbearable; I sometimes cannot walk on the foot without being in tears. The pain is now traveling up the inside leg. For months my doctor thought the pain was coming from my back. But my doctor has now ruled out that it is related to my bad back problems. My back doctor pressed on my foot near the inside ankle and I screamed and began crying from the pain. Can you please tell me what this possibly can be?

Hello and thank you for the question.

Without examining you and seeing exactly where you are referencing it is difficult for me to know what’s causing your foot pain. Could you provide an image of where it is bothering you? Otherwise if you have not done any stretching and mobilization work then I would start here.

Foot release should be done every day in the morning and evening with calf stretching every night. In addition you want to make sure that you are wearing supportive footwear and possibly may benefit from an insert.

Based on what you are describing I would go with an orthotic that features a post to control over-pronation and balance the rearfoot.

    I hope this helps!
