I have a red itchy spot on the top of my right foot. Sometimes it has a dull pain that hurts. What could it be and how can I make it feel better.
Hello and thank you for your question. Without examining your foot it is difficult for me to say exactly what may be causing your foot to itch. The most common causes of red, itchy spots on the foot are eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis. If you do not have a history of psoriasis or eczema then it is most likely dermatitis. You can try a topical steroid to alleviate the itching. Most pharmacies have hydrocortisone cream which is a good first line treatment. If the itching persists, I would see either a Podiatrist or a Dermatologist who can prescribe a more appropriate treatment.
