It’s painful walking on left foot with tender spot on outside of foot on lower part of heel area. The tender spot is approximately 2 inches below my ankle. I am a 61 yr old female. Thank you.
Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your description above it sounds like you may have peroneal tendonitis however without examining you I cannot say for certain. I would start by rolling the bottom of your foot and lower leg (peroneals) with a RAD Roller (www.radroller.com) 10 minutes and follow this with 5 minutes of calf stretching. Avoid high heel shoes or any movements that stress the outside of your ankle such as running jumping stairs etc. You can ice the area and consider topical anti-inflammatories. If you do the above every day for 1 weeks and the pain continues then I’d see a Podiatrist in person. I hope this helps!
