pain a year later after surgery

I had foot surgery Dec. 7. Three crash factor, three hammer toes and two bunions. Which equals 7 screws and a plate. Every thing is healed. But this sharp pain right behind my ball of my foot that now go to to the top of the heel in the arch. I been to so many doctors. The final stated the dr. who did the surgery shorted my toe too much there not enough room for all the ligaments, tendons and nerves in the channel causing pain every time I step. Gould the be a tear in a tendon or something else? Because it feels like walking on broken glass. It the morning it is so stuff I cannot walk on it. Feels like a claw a lot of time that my sides of my foot are warping arounnd the middle like some with an arthritis in there hands. I cannot really do anything but sit around making hard to live.

Hello and thank you for your question. Without examining your foot it is difficult for me to say exactly what may be causing your pain – but I will give general recommendations. After your foot surgery how is your range of motion in your foot and in all your toes? Have you changed your activity in any way since the surgery? Do you frequently stretch and strengthen your feet, or have you done any sort of physical therapy after your surgery? All of these questions will help with the diagnosis of your foot pain. As far as your concern of a tendon tear, this is not something I would suspect. The tendons in the foot are long and typically do not present in a way that you are describing your pain. If you have not done any physical therapy I would start with this treatment recommendation. I hope this helps!
