Pain top of left foot.

I have had some pain in my left foot for about 4 months now. It tends to get worse as the day progresses and is very painful if pressure is applied to the top of the foot (eg when my dog treads on it!) It also hurts if pressure is a pplied to the centre of the bottom of the foot. The pain is located on the top of my foot about halfway along following the bones running from my fourth toe (if that makes sense?) And it can also sometimes be felt simply through walking. It doesn’t feel like a muscular pain. Any ideas what may be the cause of this pain and the best course of action might be? Thank you 🙂

Hello and thank you for your question. Without examining you it is difficult for me to say exactly what may be causing your pain. It sounds like you may have a stress fracture. I recommend seeing a Podiatrist who can better evaluate you as well as take an Xray to rule out any fracture or bony pathology. In the mean time, I recommend minimizing your activity and impact forces to your foot. Good luck!
