Continuing pain in ankle after severe gout attack. Swelling come and goes. No weight bear possible. What could the answer be? Regards
Hello and thank you for your question. Have you been diagnosed accurately that this was a gout attack? Gout is usually in the great toe not the ankle. The most important aspect of gout to control is the inflammation. This can be done with either NSAIDs, anti-inflammatory diet or a steroid injection. If you have not seen your Podiatrist for one of these options I would recommend doing so. I hope this helps!
