Pain after fall and bursitis diagnosis

I fell in early June, and have been having pain every since. It’s a sharp, shooting intermittent pain on the top of my foot between the 4th and 5th metatarsal. My doctor did an X-ray and determined nothing was broken. Since then, I’ve been on prescription strength aleve and using a metatarsal pad. I just had an ultrasound done on my foot, and they found bursitis between metatarsal 2&3 and 3&4, but nothing to explain the pain (my doctor originally thought it was a neuroma). The radiologist said he thought my foot was broken and was surprised that nothing showed in X-rays. I can’t get in to the podiatrist for another month. I can’t wear shoes, and I’m a teacher so I can’t stay off my foot. I feel completely at a loss as to what to do with this pain. What else could it be?

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on the above I suggest integrating foot release with a golf ball or RAD Roller (www.radroller.com) for 5 minute twice a day. I would follow this with using Correct Toes (www.correcttoes.com) every night for at least 30 minutes. Continue to use the met pad and wide shoes. When you see the Podiatrist I would ask for a steroid injection or see if there is Class 4 laser options. I hope this helps!
