I had a car accident last year and sustained a head injury and slight spine damage. Since then I have this feeling in my third toe which feels like I have a pin sticking in it but when I feel my toe it just feels numb.
Hello and thank you for your question. With a history of spine injury, having nerve-related foot pain is not uncommon. The nerves which supply the foot and toes originate in the spine so depending specifically which part of the spine you injured would be able to help determine if your foot pain is associated.
If it is not related to the spine injury then there can be other causes of the foot numbness/pain that must be ruled out. I would discuss the foot/toe numbness with your Neurologist so they can determine the most appropriate cause. They may end up referring you to a Podiatrist if they rule out that it is not related to your spine injury.
I hope this helps!
