I wear custom orthotics (from a podiatrist). Does this mean I cannot wear sandals?
I have high arches, plantar fasciitis, heal spurs, bunions, hammer toes and morton’s neuroma
Hello and thank you for your question.
Without examining your foot I’m not sure why your doctor prescribed orthotics. Orthotics can be used for various reasons including flat feet, neuromas, great toe arthritis. So really depending on why the orthotics were prescribed and how severe your foot pain was before the orthotics would determine if you can or should be wearing sandals. If you have orthotics for flat feet then you should be able to wear sandals but I suggest you look at Aetrex’s line of sandals as they have two distinct collections.
The “Customized Comfort” collection has removable footbeds so you can replace them with your custom orthotic. The other collection, “Cork Comfort,” all have built in orthotics for better arch support. http://www.aetrex.com
If you want to find out for sure I would discuss this with your Podiatrist. Good luck!
