One toe growing on top of another?

I was chasing after my friend and my toe nail ripped off. It has healed for like over 2 years, but there is still a weird overlap. I try to cut the top toe nail, but it seems to have stopped growing. I can’t file it off because it’s too close to my skin. It doesn’t hurt though, and it isn’t black.

Hello and thank you for your question. Anytime you injure your nail matrix or nail bed (area where nail grows out of) you are at risk of abnormal nail growth. Any damage to the nail matrix cannot be reversed as this is where the nail cells originate.

You can try to file down the nail that is double so that it is less obvious however a permanent solution doesn’t really exist.

    I hope this helps.
