Numbness in foot after accident

Someone dropped two heavy oxygen tanks on the top of my foot 4 days ago. I did an X-ray which showed no broken bone but tissue damage. Since then from the side of my instep to my big toe is numb and tingly. Even more numb if I touch it or shoes rub against it. Not very painful though and can move freely but I am but really numb along that toe. Thank you.

Hello and thank you for your question. Any injury that results in swelling and inflammation can put pressure on the nerves. This is often reversible within a a couple weeks to a couple months. If you are looking to accelerate this process I’d recommend taking nerve protective supplements / vitamins including L-methyl folate (1000ug 3x day), acetyl-l-carnitine (500mg 1x day) and r-lipoic acid (600mg 1x day). If you are really concerned you can also look into doing laser to the foot – search Class IV laser to find someone in your area who does this service. It wil be a fee-based service. I hope this helps!
