Major Pain!!!

A few months ago I started to notice major pain that started on the ball of my right foot and radiated inside my foot. The pain was consistent and wouldn’t go away no matter what I tried. The only relief is when there was no pressure on it whatsoever.
I checked out the bottom of my foot and noticed a small bump in the area where I was feeling the pain. It was not visible to the eye, but I could feel it with some pressure. I did some research and thought that it was maybe a plantars wart so I began treating it as such with Compound W patches. These did nothing for the pain, and it never changed (according to the net what was supposed to be the black spots, or root?). I switched over to a at home freezing agent, and again so change, but even more extreme pain. Next up I tried Compound W extra strength acid that you paint on. It often spread when I put it on causing a big chunk of my skin to fall off, but throughout it all I could sill see a dot, skin colored dot in the middle that never changed size or color.

I have officially stopped trying to use anything because maybe it’s not a wart since nothing seems to be working. The pain is a bit better, but still has moments where it is terrible.

The exact location where the pain starts is about an inch below my fourth toe.

Please help!!!!

Hello and thank you for your question.

I would recommend seeing a Podiatrist if you have not done so already. I see many patients who think they have warts and end up having calluses or corns (IPKs) or sometimes even a foreign body.

Most of the over the counter treatment if used improperly can actually do more harm then good. Good luck!
