Lumps on outside of both childs feet

My 9 year old daughter has been complaining about pain on each side of both feet. Upon examination, there are lumps on each foot about half way down the outside of both feet. They are painful for her to touch and she feels discomfort walking as the day progresses. Do you know what this could be and should I take her to a doctor or podiatrist? Thanks.

Hello and thank you for the question. Without examining your daughter it is difficult for me to say exactly what may be causing your daughter pain. I would recommend seeing a Podiatrist as they are better trained to assess for possible biomechanical imbalances in your daughter’s feet or lower extremity. The Podiatrist may recommend orthotics or supportive footwear in the case of any biomechanical imbalances in your daughter’s feet. Good luck!
