Left foot only

For some time I had a stinging pain in both my big toes however this lasted a couple of months and then went away. I now have a problem in my left foot which tends to ache at the arch and my heel is painfull when walking so much so I tend to keep my heel of the ground and walk more on my toes. My foot is not painfull to touch and tends to ache even when sitting. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hello and thank you for your question. Without examining you it is difficult to say. However it sounds like it may be your plantar fascia.

Heel pain or arch pain in general is all initially treated the same way – rest, massage, supportive shoes, ice and anti-inflammatories.

I would start by daily: stretching your calves for 5 minutes, rolling the bottom of your foot on a golf ball or tennis ball 5 minutes, ice your foot 10 minutes, NSAIDs such as a Aleve, Advil for 2 weeks and supportive shoes. If your pain persists then I recommend seeing a Podiatrist in person.

    I hope this helps!
