Inner Foot Pain

I have a sharp achy pain inside both feet. It is on the bottom of my feet, up inside towards the top of my arch but not in the ball. It hurts mostly at night and worse if I put any pressure on my feet like laying with one foot under my other leg. I also have a lot of pain and stiffness when I first stand in the morning, but eases after walking for awhile. I also have bulging disk in my lower back along with lumbar stinosis, along with some hip issues and was wondering if my back or hips may be the cause?

Hello and thank you for your question. It is difficult for me to accurately diagnosis what is causing your pain without examining you – however I will do my best to guide you.

Since your pain is initially in the morning but then fades as your tissue warms up, it is safe to assume that it will respond to conservative treatment such as stretching, soft tissue work, decreased stress to the tissue and anti-inflammatories.

You can daily massage, stretching and icing to see if it responds before seeing a Doctor, or if you pain is unrelenting then I would recommend seeing a Podiatrist for a full examination. Depending on the diagnosis you may benefit from a steroid injection as many foot pain responds quickly to steroid injections.

    I hope this helps!
