Heel pain

For just over a week when I put my right foot to the ground there is considerable pain on my heel, walking makes it worse with a slight burning sensation. No pain at all when sitting down with my foot raised. There is no swelling or anything visible to show something is wrong. Hope you can help. Thank you.

Hello and thank you for your question. I’d start by implementing rolling, stretching, icing and reduced activity. You can roll the bottom of your foot on a golf ball or RAD Roller (www.radroller.com) for 10 minutes at the end of the day. Follow this with 5 minutes of calf stretching. In addition you can ice the foot for 10 minutes and take NSAIDs (Advil, Aleve) every day for at least 7 days. If you feel this reduces your pain then continue the above. If you are still in the same pain then I’d see a Podiatrist who can better evaluate you in person. I hope this helps!
