I have severe heel pain. I have Plantars Faciatis. I also suffered from Achilles Tendonitis this past summer. It hurst to put pressure on my foot. What are the causes and what can I do to help alleviate the pain…
Thank you for your question. Has a Podiatrist diagnosed you with plantar fasciitis? Several other conditions can mimic plantar fasciitis, I just want to be certain it is in fact plantar fasciitis. 90% of plantar fasciitis responds to conservative treatment which includes stretching, icing, anti-inflammatories, orthotics and night splints.
Depending on your foot type you may be getting heel pain due to over-pronation or decreased ankle mobility. If this is the case I’d try 2 weeks of committed stretching, icing, anti-inflammatories and supportive footwear and you should notice a decrease in your symptoms. If the pain persists then I’d see a Podiatrist to discuss additional options.
Best of luck!
