Heel pain

My entire life I cannot stand still on my feet, because just in 2-3 minutes my heels become painful. Feels like sharp, shooting pain. I can walk all day long without pain, but cannot stand still and it is getting very irritating. The pain can get so bad that I cannot take it anymore and it can take a very long time before the pain is gone. They say I got my feet from my grandfather, he have the same problem. Is there anything that I can do?

Hello and thank you for your question. I would look into a combination of foot recovery, foot strengthening and orthotics. For foot recovery I would roll your feet on a golf ball or lacrosse ball for 10 minutes every evening followed by 5 minutes of calf stretching. For foot strengthening I would look into an excerise called Short Foot (video is HERE) and then for orthotics you can try Lyncos by Aetrex (www.aetrex.com) or see a Podiatrist for a custom pair. I hope this helps!
