foot pain on bottom of feet

I have foot pain on the bottom of my feet . It started wearing a pair of rubber crocs while pressure washing my porch , like the bottom of my feet were brusied. I’m trying a new pair of Aetrex running shoes now. I know my previous shoes are wore out and standing on concrete 8 hours a day at work doesn’t help . Any sugestions?

Thank you for your question. Without examining you it is difficult for me to say exactly what may be causing your foot pain, however I will do my best to guide you. We have many 18 muscles, multiple tendons are several fascial layers on the bottom of our feet – all which can become irritated if we stand too long without proper foot support. Many causes of foot pain are soft tissue in nature and can be recovered with stretching of the calves, ice massage to the bottom of the foot and stretching of the plantar fascia. I advise all my patients stretch their feet and ankles at least 10 minutes a day. If your pain persists, I would see a Podiatrist who can better evaluate you and see if a specific soft tissue structured in injured as well as other possible causes for your foot pain. Good luck!
