Foot Pain

I don’t recall injuring my foot but for the last couple of days, I have severe foot pain when I apply pressure on my foot. I can’t lay my foot flat on the ground without a shooting pain on the top of my foot to the bottom of it. There is no heel or toe pain, it is just in the center of my foot. I have to walk on the side of my foot for it not too hurt. Just wondering if there is an answer for this or if I should see a doctor. Thanks.

Hello and thank you for your question. Without me examining you it is difficult for me to say exactly what may be causing your pain. I’ve seen patients with a similar presentation who end up having a stress fracture, where others had a midfoot sprain.

With all foot pain you want to avoid excessive activity and take anti-inflammatories. I would see a Podiatrist who can better evaluate you and can take an X-ray. Good luck!
