foot and ankle cramping

I wake up in horrible pain with my feet locking up with horrible muscle spasms. This happens often. I work an average of 10 – 12 hours a day of which 99.9 percent of that is walking and or standing. Happens with both feet and unbearable when it happens. What can I do to change this or should I be concerned?

    I think the first thing you need to start implementing is daily foot releases. I recommend standing on or rolling your feet on golf balls every morning and every night for at least 5 minutes.

    I recommend daily foot and calf release to all my patients – especially those who need to stand all day. Proper shoes and supportive inserts are important but you still must address the tightness that occurs in the muscles and tissue. I would also recommend stretching your hips/hip flexors 5 minutes at the end of the day as well, as our hips and feet are closely related.
