feet and heels pain

Suffering from severe pain in the feet and heels, @ times can hardly bear my weight to walk. Wearing orthopedic footwear was recommended. However, I would like to know what could be the cause and what could I do to help.
Looking forward to your kind response.

Kind regards,

Thank you for the question. Depending on whether your pain is under or behind the heel, the exact cause is hard to say. One of the most common causes of heel pain is plantar fasciitis. Plantar fasciitis is inflammation at the insertion or along the central band of the fascia on the bottom of the foot. Typically associated with pain 1st step in the morning or after a period of rest, plantar fasciitis is commonly associated with limited ankle mobility. If your pain is behind the heel or along the achilles tendon, then this too is often associated with decreased ankle mobility. For both conditions, the initial treatment is rest, ice and over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication. If the pain persists then I advise seeing your Podiatrist for further evaluation as there may be another cause for the heel pain.
