Constant Metatarsal bend (Big Toe) pain

I have this constant pain on the ball of my foot by the big toe metatarsal bone and also a bit of a new ache now on my outer anckle (lateral malleolus). I do walk alot daily (appx 10km/day) and in flat boots / walking shoes mostly. Is this something to worry about or investigate and if so where would I start?
Thank you

Hello and thank you for your question.

Without examining you it is difficult to say exactly what you have, as everyone has a slightly different foot type. A good place to start is to release your feet and calves at the end of the day for 10 minutes every day for at least 1 week. Stand or roll your foot on a golf ball or tennis ball. Roll your calves on a tennis ball or foam roller.

Despite wearing supportive shoes, if our feet our not released/stretched daily, the stress can start to accumulate. If you do not feel relief after doing this for 1 week then I suggest having your feet evaluated by a Podiatrist.

    I hope this helps.
