Is it possible to have Calcaneal apophysitis as an adult? I was diagnosed with it as a child and they said it’s something you will grow out of. I have continued to have severe foot/heel pain for most of my life.
Hello and thank you for your question. What you would be experiencing is more of Achilles tendintis or periostitis which is similar but different than calcaneal apophysitis. I would ensure you are rolling your calves and bottom of the foot daily for 10 minutes with a golf ball or lacrosse ball. You will also want to avoid flat shoes, so shoes with a slight heel toe drop is ideal. If it persists I would consider getting an MRI to rule out any degeneration or partial tearing of the tendon. I hope this helps!
