Ball of foot burning

I was wearing tight boots, long days on very hard surfaces, toes felt cramped, soles are red, increased calluses, ball of foot burns, both feet but more on right, heavy construction, jackhammer, 30 lbs overweight, treated for athletes foot, no rash, no itch, just burning. Foot soaks, I think I have it figured out, What is it, more 10 hr days on my feet soon. Feet look normal, have not been to doctor, our insurance stinks. Thanks

Hello and thank you for your question. Since you have a hard time getting to a Podiatrist I’d start by doing dedicated foot recovery at the end of every day for at least 15 – 20 minutes. Start by rolling the bottom of your feet with a golf ball or lacrosse ball for 10 minutes followed by 5 minutes of calf stretching. For the skin on the foot I’d use a pummice stone to address the calluses and consider adding a metatarsal pad to your shoes. You can find them at For the athletes foot or redness of the foot I’d use a Pedi-dry powder in your shoes in the morning and a tea tree oil spray at night. If you do the above consistently you may be able to avoid going to the doctor, however if this is non-resolving after several weeks I would see a Podiatrist. I hope this helps!
