Arch Pain

Last year i wore skater shoes with a curved arch, since then every time i put pressure on the middle of my foot, it extremely hurts. I found this on your website that best describes my condition. Over-pronation (flat feet) which results in the arch collapsing upon weight bearing. Can you determine the cause please. Thank you.

Hello and thank you for your question.

Without examining you or seeing exactly where you are describing your pain I cannot accurately say if it is/is not over-pronation. Over-pronation can contribute to many other diagnosis’s that cause pain such as posterior tibial tendonitis or peroneus longus tendonitis. Would I would suggest in the meantime is to roll your foot on a golf ball or RAD Roller (www.radroller.com) 5 minutes every day.

In addition, stretch and roll your calves daily for 5-10 minutes. If your pain persists then I’d suggest seeing a Podiatrist who can better evaluate you in person.
