Achy feet

For the last month or two, my feet have been achy and every so often feel tingly. The heel is where it’s the worst. A lot of times when I put heat on it, it does help. It seems like it all started when I tried appetite suppressants, not sure if it was a coincidence or what. The type of shoes also make a difference. I am not sure if not drinking enough water could be the cause or not enough walking. I have all these awful thoughts of what it could be running through my head.

Hello and thank you for your question. Foot pain and tingling or numbness can be quite concerning so it is good that you are inquiring into this. There are various different reasons for why patients may experience tingling or fatigue of the feet. Unfortunately without examining you it is difficult for me to say exactly what may be causing your symptoms. If you have not seen a Podiatrist yet I would recommend making an appointment.

A Podiatrist will be able to perform a full biomechanical exam which will determine if faulty biomechanics are contributing to your foot pain and tingling symptoms.

If your biomechanics are contributing to symptoms there are various options for treatment including stretching, exercises and orthotics.

    Good luck!
