December 1, 2005 I had surgery on both of my big toes. I had severe Hallux Rigidus and the doctor put in new joints. About 5 months ago I started developing pain in the ball of my left foot, I also began noticing my toe (next to the big toe) starting to move closer and tighter against my big toe. The pain now includes the top of my foot and is VERY sore. Just to walk I have to walk on my heel so I don't put any pressure at all on the ball. I have had 2 cotisone injections which only last about 1 month. My question is, has anyone experienced this problem and if so, is there anything that can be put in my shoe to help relieve the pain.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Carmen
It difficult to really give you my opinion without a physical examination. The treatment depends upon your subjective complaints, and physical and radiographic findings. However, you may want to discuss with your doctor whether or not an orthotic device or special shoe would be beneifical given your current situation.

Good-luck and thank-you for contacting foot.com,
