Hello out there,
i was checking out your page and i think i have calluses on the top bottom part of my feet. I think thats what it is because i have to wear highheels at work and i'm standing up for 5-8 hours. The first day i noticed the one on my left foot which was the biggest i cut it off with a nail clipper but i ended hurtin myself from cutting a little bit too deep. I read that it can be dangerous and now i'm scared. What should i do now? let that part heal? because it hurts when i walk now so i put bandaids. Should i let it heal and then soak my feet in warm soapy water as your page sugested or should i just start that? What other suggestions do you have. I appreciate your time.

Thank you.

Wear a lower heel less than 1 1/2 inchs. Let you foot heal. Where on your foot is your calus located?

Pressure and friction cause caluses you need to reduce both. What is your job that requires high heels and standing for more than 4 hrs?

All in all let you foot heal. Wear shoes that let your foot heal.

Keep the cut clean.

Get well soon.

Dear Miri
"Bathroom surgery" can be very dangerous, it can lead to infection, loss of limb and even death. This sounds extreme but things can happen. I would recommend that you see a Podiatrist for an evaluation. If work demands a certain attire you may want to alternate a low rise heel with other types of dress shoes or oxfords. At this time a high heel will propably futher irritate the area so you should probably wear something more conservative until the area fully heals.
I would recommend that you see a Podiatrist for an evaluation. May sure that there is no underlying infection. He/she can discuss the alternatives to your particular foot type, since shoe gear is only one component to this problem.

Good-luck and thank-you for contacting foot.com
