I am a diabetic & have neuroma, neuropathy & plantar fascitis. This pain in no way comes close to what my husband suffers. He has bony masses on the bottoms of his feet that protrude. These are about the size of small walnuts. One on each foot. They are mid-foot & on the insides. He had similar masses on the tops of his feet that were cut away years ago. The surgeon told him he could not take off the ones on the bottoms or he would have nothing to support him. He's had inserts made (little leather $400 jobbers) and they did not help. Does anyone out there suffer with this condition. (Don't know that it has a name) Thanks, Val

Dear Val,

From what you are saying it sounds like your husband's foot has collapsed. You did say that the protrusion were on the bottoms and the inside of his feet. Yes?

This is called a "Charcot foot" also a "Rocker Bottom foot"

Your husband needs to be seen by a medical professional. First and foremost.

Conservative treatment involes proper fitting shoes and orthotics that properly envelop his feet and all their contours.

I looked online for you and got a website with a picture of this condition so that you can verify.
