I have been diagnosed with Morton's Neuroma. I do not want to have suggested surgery. I have been seeing an acupuncturist for an unrelated aliment. He suggests that low level laser treatment can eliminate the neuroma. He showed me literature from the laser company which stated that after 2 to 3 weeks of 3 times a week treatment, the neuroma should go away. I have been having treatments for the past
5 weeks, and although it is better, it has not gone away.
It is called cold or low laser therapy. The product is a 830nm Sportslaser 33 mw.
He also gave me a Chinese analgesic lotion, Zheng Gu Shui, to apply 2 times a day. This helps.
Does anyone have any experience with laser therapy or with Zheng Gu Shui? What are your opinions?
Many thanks

Dear Lady,
Although surgical intervention (knife, laser) can work with neuromas, it is only a good band-aid to what is REALLY causing the neuroma. They are often caused by tight shoes. The most common problem with neuromas is their recurrence!
When the surgery has been performed, the patient very often goes right back to wearing the same shoes that caused the problem in the first place. Many times the neuroma will return and the patient will have a loss of sensation in the foot from the surgery, but still have the neuroma.
If your doctor has not asked you about your shoes, and looked at them, go to someone who will!
The conservative treatment of neuroma is with a wider shoe size, and a pad that goes in-between and just behind the balls of your feet that are entrapping the particular nerve. The pad is called a neuroma plug and it looks like a torpedo.
May your feet be with you.
Best,
