I run marathons and have been run for years. Recently I got new shoes. I ran in them about 4 weeks and one time I thought I tied my shoe too tight, but I ran anyways. I then had a pain that developed on the top of my left foot right under the second to last lace hole on the right side of my foot ( about 1-1/2 to 2 inches below the bottom of my big toe). I've laced my shoes different for 3 weeks but the pain has not gotten better and last weekend it was worse. It doesn't hurt to push on it or to hop on my leg, only when running and after a run, walking.
Any advice on how to help this would be appreciated. Thank you.

Dear Wendy
You may have aggrevated the tendon that attaches to the big toe with the shoe lace and developped a tendonitis. I would probably suggest that you go to see a podiatrist for an evaluation and to bring your shoes in with you. Since the pain has not improved and is persistent I would not delay this appointment.

Good-luck and thank-you for contacting foot.com,
