Full Version: Painful Corn
Foot.com Cafe > General Foot Health > Toe Pain
No name Toe Pain
I have a corn on my small toe, I have for years. During this time, I have used corn removers and razors (yes, I know, a BIG no, no) to remove it. It just keeps coming back. This time, it hurts. The last time I cut it, was about two weeks ago, it's been hurting ever since. What should I do. It's not swollen or infected.

Dear Chennell,
You might of cut too deep. I always tell patients to avoid "bathroom medicine" because it only leads to disasterous results. I recently treated a patient who was practicing bathroom medicine who developed a raging infection and needed to be admitted to the hospital for IV antibiotics. I would recommend that you have that toe evaluated by a Podiatrist to make sure that it is definately not infected and to discuss treatment plan and alternatives for your case.

Good-luck and thank-you for conatcting foot.com,
