mad.gif Have went to several doctors and I have had this pain in the ball of my foot for several years. I am set up for surgery and am scared to death. Every time that I stand or walk and put pressure on the left bottom ball of my foot it feels like you are standing on a nail and it is very painful and the doctor said to cure that he has to take one of my toes and cut the bone and put a metal piece in it to straighten out the toe or shorten it. He said that will cure the problem when it heals. I don't mind having the surgery if it will solve the problem. But has someone out there had this surgery and did it solve the problem. The surgery is coming up soon, so please advise me. Thanks
Carol
Before you resort to surgery you might want to try an arch support that has a metararsal lift. That will take the pressure off the ball of your foot, where the pain is.
