Dear Charissa
I think that you should see a Podiatrist right away for an evaluation. Unfortunately, diabetic patients can develop a "charcot foot" where the midfoot collapses and predisposes the patient to developing ulcerations. The pain may be due to a sprain or strain or in may be due to something more serious. Don't delay, seek attention right away.
Good-luck and thank-you for contacting foot.com,

Hi.....I've never heard of Type 3 diabetes. If you can tell me a little more about it, I may be able to make a suggestion or two.

I found this at
http://diabetes.about.com:Type 3 Diabetes?Scientists say they may have discovered a previously unknown form of diabetes, after finding the brain produces insulin as well as the pancreas. Unlike other types of diabetes, the form - dubbed type 3 by the US Brown Medical School team - is not thought to affect blood sugar.
Type 3 affects brain insulin levels, and appears to be linked with Alzheimer's disease.
Hope this helps!
