Here is some quick background information. Way over a year ago, about May or June of 2004, I would wake up with a lot of pain in both feet. Usually it was all over, but mostly it was in the top of the foot. After walking for a few minutes, it went away. It would come back somewhat during the day after resting for a period of time.
I finally realized what the problem might be. I work at a grocery store and I push carts a lot. When pushing a heavy load of carts up the hill ramp, I found that I was using my feet to help my push by standing on my toes and raising the rest of my feet slightly. I immediately stopped doing that after a few weeks and haven't done it since. I also had a bad pair of shoes at the time, possibly. I got new and better shoes around that time. Then the pain went away and I had no more problems.
HOWEVER, I do continue to feel slight pain in the mid porton of the bottom of my foot. This I have noticed since July or August of 2004. It is not bad pain at all. It only hurts slightly now and then, and it does hurt if you push on the bone with a finger. It is always there. Always. It doesn't bother me unless I do a ton of walking, and then I will notice the pain in that area. If I bend the foot somewhat, and feel that spot, I can feel a bone there... which I assume is the 1st or 2nd metatarsal... or maybe its the plantar nerve? That I am unsure. Now maybe it's impossible to tell, but when I feel that bone, while bending my foot somewhat, it feels like there might be a crack on that bone or area, or some added splinter. I honestly don't know. I have a picture posted on the following URL, with a marker of where the pain is at. Anybody with any idea what this could be, I would greatly appreciate it.
