ohmy.gif My podiatrist has told me to use a toothbrush with some comet cleanser on it to clean the area where he worked on an ingrown toe nail.

This sounded bizarre to me and my family. Has anyone ever heard of this or done this??

I wouldn't think cleanser would be good on skin.

Please advise!!

Dear Angel-on-high
I have not heard of that sort of recommendation, it sounds a little extreme. I personally do not know the exact ingredients of "comet" cleansers, so I usually stick to recommending either betadine and warm water soaks or epson salt and warm water soaks for a patient who had an ingrown toe nail procedure.

Good-luck and thank-you for contacting foot.com,
